Brač Island
Location
Central Dalmatia
Location
Central Dalmatia
Brač is one of the largest islands in central Dalmatia, located directly across the channel from Split. Known for its bright limestone, olive groves, and open coastal villages, the island combines lively harbor towns with long stretches of quiet shoreline.
Approaching by yacht, Brač feels spacious. The island rises gradually from the sea, with white stone villages scattered along the coast and higher hills inland. It’s a versatile stop — offering swimming bays, historic villages, and some of the most recognizable beaches in Croatia.

Where You’ll Spend Time
Most yachts stop in Bol, located on the southern side of the island, or in Milna, a sheltered harbor on the western coast.
Bol is famous for Zlatni Rat, the narrow white-pebble beach that extends into the Adriatic and changes shape with currents and wind. The promenade between Bol harbor and the beach is lined with pine trees, cafés, and small restaurants.
Milna offers a quieter setting with a natural harbor surrounded by stone houses and marina docks. It’s often used as a calm overnight stop before sailing toward Hvar or Vis.
Things to Do
Visit Zlatni Rat Beach
Zlatni Rat is one of the most recognizable beaches on the Adriatic.
Here you’ll find:
A long pebble spit extending into turquoise water
Pine forest shade along the shore
Windsurfing and water sports in the open channel
Clear views toward the island of Hvar
It’s a lively daytime stop, especially during summer.

Walk the Bol Promenade
The seaside path between Bol harbor and Zlatni Rat is one of the island’s most pleasant walks.
Along the way you’ll pass:
Stone villas and small art galleries
Beach cafés and shaded terraces
Swimming spots along the pine-lined coast
It’s an easy way to explore the town before returning to the yacht.
Explore the Interior Villages
Inland Brač is known for traditional stone villages and olive groves. The island’s white limestone has been used in buildings across the Adriatic — even in parts of Diocletian’s Palace in Split.
Short excursions inland reveal a quieter, agricultural side of the island.
